Maar osteopathie gaat nog verder. Hoofdpijn is een mooi voorbeeld: Er zitten allerlei structuren vast aan je schedel. Denk maar eens aan je slokdarm en je maag, maar ook allerlei bloedvaten die uit het hart voortkomen. Als er spanning ontstaat in die keten, dan resulteert dan vaak in hoofdpijn. Je maagdarmkanaal is verantwoordelijk voor jouw gezondheid. Je kan je voorstellen dat je lichaam er alles aan zal doen om dit systeem zo optimaal mogelijk te laten werken. Zelfs als je daar andere systemen voor ‘op moet offeren’. Het kan natuurlijk altijd leiden tot buikpijn, maar vaak zie je klachten in het bewegingsapparaat ontstaan.

We zien veel huilbaby’s, soms met darmkrampjes en slaapstoornissen. Vaak liggen baby’s scheef, of spugen ze hun eten weer omhoog. Dan is het goed om eens te zoeken naar spanning in het lichaam. Vaak zit er spanning in het hoofd. Dat komt misschien door de geboorte, maar vergeet niet dat er bij een baby een hele andere verhouding bestaat tussen het lichaam en het hoofd.
